Joyful January

January is infamous for the 'January blues'. Christmas is over, the bright lights and decorations are packed away, everyone is fed up of the cold, miserable weather and the dark nights. The resolutions you swore you'd stick to this time haven't gone to plan already, and by the second week of the new year you just want to hibernate.

But, do we have to feel like this? The January blues are only a thing if we let them be. Every day is a chance for a new start, not just January 1st. Every morning, we can start again. It doesn't matter if you promised yourself that you weren't going to have anymore chocolate until Easter, but then ending up devouring an entire box full before going to bed (at least they're gone now.) We don't need to put unnecessary pressure on ourselves. Instead, why can't it be a Joyful January?

Think about what the word 'joyful' means, what do you find joyful? It might be going for a walk, curling up under a blanket watching a cheesy film, dancing around the kitchen while you wash the dishes, having a day in your pj's eating crisps and drinking wine (I think I would choose all of these, ha,ha.) Whatever it is, it needs to be something that gives you some joy. Something that when you go to be at the end of the day you think to yourself, that was a lovely day!

Let's make January Joyful!
